24” or 60 cm. attractive biennial which bear densely-packed, flattened heads of fragrant flowers in shades of red, white, pink, purple, salmon, and in bicolours. These handsome, long lasting flowers make vivid romantic bouquets all by themselves or mixed with other flowers. A flower that likes our cool climate. Grow in rich, well-drained soil that is slightly alkaline - sun or shade. If it is planted from seed after the last frost, it will flower in the second year. If it is planted in flats before the last frost and then transplanted it may flower in the first year. Deadheading encourages further flowering.
